SEGi University today entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with National Defense University of Malaysia (UPNM) to develop an academic programme and research in the areas of Criminal Justice and Enforcement, and to develop an entrepreneurship programme for retiring service men undergoing pre-retirement training with PERHEBAT (Perbadanan Hal Ehwal Bekas Angkatan Tentera). The programme allows veterans who are relatively young retirees to learn and strengthen their existing skills which will assist in their transition from retiring army and service men to become successful entrepreneurs.
The MOU was signed by Professor Dr. Patrick Kee (Vice Chancellor of SEGi University) and Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Panglima Haji Zulkifli Zainal Abidin (Vice Chancellor of Universiti Pertahanan Malaysia (UPNM)) and was witnessed by Datuk Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil (Executive Director and Group President of SEGi University & Colleges), Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Megat Najmuddin bin Dato’ Seri Dr. Haji Megat Khas (Chairman of SEG International Bhd), Professor Emeritus Dr. Tengku Mohd bin. Tengku Sembok (Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic of Universiti Pertahanan Malaysia (UPNM)), Dato’ Dr. Jesbil Singh (Assistant Vice Chancellor of Universiti Pertahanan Malaysia (UPNM)) and was presided by the Director General Ministry of Higher Education, Yang Bahagia Datuk Professor Dr. Asma Ismail.
After the signing ceremony, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) former Chief Commissioner, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abu Kassim Mohamed delivered an informative public lecture on Public Governance and Integrity.
