The Chinese Cultural Society and Confucius Institute of SEGi University organised the “Moon United Festival” at SEGi University in conjunction with the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The Director of the Confucius Institute and also Principal of SEGi College Kota Damansara, Dr. See Hoon Peow shared with students the origins of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Performances included an Orchestra from SJK(C) San Yuk, Rawang, a traditional fan and ribbon dance, songs, a diabolo performance, and also several plays on ancient Mid-Autumn stories such as “Chang Er Flying to the Moon” and the “Story of Wu Gang Chopping the Wood”.
During intermission, the students participated in the riddles-guessing booth. Prizes were also given out to members of the audiences who managed to answer the questions asked by the emcees.
In conjunction with the main event, a Lantern Competition was held the previous day, where participants are required to use recyclable materials. The winning group for the Lantern making competition was Ng Lai Ling’s team. Congratulations!
