Constitution

The University is governed by the Private Higher Educational Institutions Act 1996 [Act 555] established by the Malaysian Ministry of Education.

ISO Certifications

SEGi has been ISO certified since 2011 for its Quality Management System in Examinations Services. In 2018 the University’s total operation successfully obtained certification under the new standard ISO 9001:2015. In the same year, SEGi also has been certified as an environmentally friendly University under the new standard ISO 14001:2015

ISO 9001:2015 – Quality

Scope:

Provision of Teaching, Learning, Research and Examinations Management including Support Services

ISO 14001:2015 – Environment

Scope:

Provision of Teaching, Learning, Research and Examinations Management including Support Services

Environmental Policy:

  • SEGi strives to be a good corporate citizen that leads by example with regards to environment protection of the area of sustainable resource utilisation;
  • SEGi will work towards the integration of environmental management into our day-to-day operations, ensuring environmental issues are addressed whilst continuing to provide high standards of education and training to all students;
  • SEGi will be in compliance to all environment-related laws and regulations and implement good environmental practice, meeting or exceeding legal requirements and strive for continuous improvement;
  • SEGi will be committed in fostering an environmental friendly culture that recognises self-evaluation and continuous improvement in our core operations and support functions.

Board of Governors

Under the Constitution, the Board of Governors is the governing, policy making and monitoring body of the university responsible for providing guidance, inputs on, and clarifying the university strategic direction and aspirations as well as to oversee and supervise institutional governance, financial affairs, human resource development, and academic affairs.

Senate

The Senate is the highest academic body in the university and, subject to the provision of the Act, the University Constitution and the statutes and rules, shall have the control and general direction of instruction, research and examination, and the award of degrees, diplomas, certificates and other academic distinctions.

Risk Management Strategy

The Risk Committee of SEGi University oversees the risk management framework and ensure that it effectively facilitates the identification, assessment and mitigation of key higher level risks across the University.
