SEGi University became the first private higher institution of learning in Malaysia to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Google for Education to make learning and teaching more efficient for members of the Faculty of Education.
The event featured the artworks of 19 graduates from the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Visual Communication Design, Diploma in Creative Multimedia, Diploma in Graphic Design and Diploma in Interior Design.
Under the MoA, academicians and students at the Faculty of Education will be adopting Google Classroom, a Google app which is a free suite of communication and collaboration tools. Google Classroom enables academicians to easily create, review and organise assignments, as well as communicate directly with students. This can save time and improve organisation for the students. SEGi University will also provide the venue and training for future Google Classroom usages by other institutions of higher learning in Malaysia.
In a rousing ceremony today, the MoA was signed by Professor Dr. Patrick Kee Peng Kong, the Acting Vice Chancellor of SEGi University, and Ms. Rahayu Ramli, the Head of Education, Google Malaysia. It was witnessed by Ms. Lydia Foong Yoke Yean, the Head of Faculty of Education at SEGi University and Mr. Amir Amha, Education Program Coordinator, Google for Education Asia.
