“Flag Print 831” was a patriotic event organized by the Student Affairs Department of SEGi College Kota Damansara in conjunction with Malaysia’s National Day. The 2-days event was held on 26 and 27 August 2015, from 11am to 3pm at the lobby entrance of SEGi College.
The main activity was by having all students and staff from SEGi College to paint a 10-meter long Jalur Gemilang (Malaysian flag) by printing their palms on the 14 alternating red and white horizontal stripes of the flag. The blue canton, crescent, and Federal Star was, however, painted readily prior to the event. The aim of this event was not only to provide an opportunity for local students and staffs to unite and celebrate Independence Day together, but also to introduce our national identity to international students and staffs.
Besides Malaysian, the event had attracted a significant numbers of international participants from Nepal, China, Vietnam, Guyana, Pakistan, Vanuatu, and Uganda. With laughter, sweat, and thinner, the event ended with an artistic and colorful Jalur Gemilang, painted exclusively by all SEGians. The flag was then proudly hung at the lobby entrance throughout the Merdeka month.
