Students from the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment (FoEBE) of SEGi University were delighted to learn from Professor David Blackwood from Abertay University (AU), United Kingdom during the latter’s three-day visit in SEGi Kota Damansara campus.
Blackwood who is the Head of the Division of Natural and Built Environment in the School of Science, Engineering and Technology and Chair of Sustainable Development from AU graced the campus in conjunction with the soft launch of a double degree, Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Civil Engineering, a collaboration between SEGi and Abertay.
The inaugural September intake of the undergraduate programme received overwhelming responses not only from Malaysian students but also international students from Yemen, Sudan, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia.
Also present at the soft launch were SEGi University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Patrick Kee and dean of Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology (FoEBE) at SEGi University, IR. Professor Dr Jeffrey Chiang.
Apart from the soft launch, Blackwood also delivered three educational and informative talks introducing the concept of lectorial to SEGians.
The talks are “Environment and Engineers: Integration of Quality and Environmental Management Systems” and “BIM: Building Information Modelling – How it helps in Construction Project Management”.
