The international day of love, Valentine’s Day is celebrated annually on Feb 14 where couples would shower each other with bitter-sweet confections and beautiful flowers.
For the Chinese, their celebrations of love fall on the seventh night of the seventh lunar month in China.
Typically known as Qi Xi (or seventh night festival), it is the Chinese equivalent to Valentine’s Day.
In conjunction with the upcoming Qi Xi Festival, the Chinese Society of SEGi College Kota Damansara had recently organised a special celebration to coincide with the Chinese Valentine’s Night.
The event held at Chervill Restaurant on July 19, saw an overwhelming participation from over 100 students.
Before the event began, female students were assigned with odd numbers while their male counterparts were given even numbers.
Subsequently, students were paired according to their numbers and male participants were required to switch places every 10 minutes until the session came to an end. It is aimed at helping the students to widen their social circle and develop closer bond.
Participants were told to pair up for exciting and fun activities including Rubber Band, Paired Chopstick and Three-Legged Race.
Aminah Kamarudin from the student affairs division of SEGi College Kota Damansara presented awards for best dressed woman and man before the closing of the event.
