FIVE students and alumni from Faculty of Dentistry (FOD) at SEGi University climbed to the top of Low’s Peak, the summit of Mount Kinabalu, which stands tall at 13, 435 ft.
Mount Kinabalu is the 20th most prominent mountain in the world by topographic prominence.
Three alumni members – Tang Tee Hwai, Cheong Jian Haw, and Leong Mei Ling – and Year 5 student, Chew Jea Yue and Year 3 student, Beh Yen Ping participated in the climb.
Alumni and dental officers from Penang International Dental College (PIDC) and Mahsa University, who are currently serving in Sabah also joined the two days, one night expedition.
Participants made their way up the steep mountainside and experienced for the first time, altitude sickness due the decreased oxygen at high altitudes.
FOD staff and students are proud of this achievement. As the saying goes, grit goes a long way to achieving your dreams.
