Recognising that Bubur Lambuk giveaway is a popular tradition among Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan.
SEGi’s Student Affairs Division joined in the tradition and prepared two large pots of the rice porridge for a recent charity project.
Bubur Lambuk is served during the fasting month and it is often regarded as a comfort food for the Muslims when they break the fast.
Preparing the rice porridge is akin to a communal event as it requires cooperation from a big group.
On June 15, a group of staffs from the division joined by student helpers came together and prepared a total of 1,273 packs of rice porridge.
It took more than two hours of cooking before it is ready for packing and distribution.
After close to three hours of hard work cooking and stirring the two large pots, the division’s distribution team gave away 500 packs to Masjid Kota Damansara, 300 packs to three surau in Section 4 and Section 6, 50 packs to a police station located in Section 6, and the remaining 423 were distributed to SEGi’s staffs and students.
