Cooking together with one heart

SEGi University’s Student Affairs Division spearheaded a charity project to contribute to society by producing 1,000 packs of bubur lambuk, a traditional rice porridge for distribution to the public. This was conducted in spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, where Muslims observe a period of fasting and prayers for one month before celebrating Eid-Al-Fitr, or known in Malaysia as Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Bubur lambuk usually consists of spices such as aniseed, fenugreek, cardamom, cloves, star anise and black pepper. Meat, dried shrimp, onion, garlic, coconut milk, ghee, coconut oil and salt are also added into the concoction. Additionally, pandan leaves, parsley, green onions and fried onions are used to create the bubur lambuk’s appealing aroma.

The bubur lambuk was then distributed to members of the public at the Kota Damansara plaza toll and also at the Ramadan bazaar near the campus.

Well done to the Student Affairs Division for successfully bringing all races together in preparing this dish and to contribute to the Kota Damansara community.
