SEGi University and Colleges welcomed Troy University from Troy, Alabama as a new partner under its American Degree Program (ADP) at a rousing launching ceremony at SEGi University.
The program was launched by Professor Jefferson Tarter Spurlock, the Chair of Communications Department, School of Communications and Fine Arts from Troy University and witnessed by Emeritus Professor Muhamad Awang, the Vice Chancellor of SEGi University. The launch was also attended by Professor Dr. Patrick Kee the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) of SEGi University, Dato’ Professor Dr. Jamaludin Mohaiadin, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Student Affairs and also Dr See Hoon Peow, Principal of SEGi College Kota Damansara.
Professor Jefferson Tarter Spurlock also gave a talk on “Strategic Communication: The Wave of the Future”. Professor Spurlock spent several weeks at SEGi University to meet new students, their parents and guardians and to witness the delivery of the program at SEGi University.
“I think it’s a wonderful opportunity for any students who wish to engage with Troy University. Not only are they getting experience from Malaysia, but they are also getting exposure from the US,” enthused Professor Spurlock
With this partnership, Malaysians can now pursue an American education without having to leave Malaysia. There is also the opportunity to complete studies by either pursuing 2+2 or 1+3 options, so students get to gain additional valuable experiences at the actual Troy University campus in the USA.
Troy University is an accredited member of the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and also the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in the USA. This is Troy University’s only partnership with a Malaysian higher learning institution.
