SEGi University and Colleges hosted an entrepreneurship talk by Fortune 500 executive and entrepreneur Mark Coopersmith at SEGi University on 27th August 2015.
The five-hour talk was split into two sessions and focussed on two topics – “Insider Entrepreneurship” and “The Importance of Ecosystem”. Under “Insider Entrepreneurship”, Mark discussed about driving entrepreneurial thinking and activities inside established enterprises. For “Importance of Ecosystem”, he talked about ways to accelerate innovation and entrepreneurship activities by citing the Silicon Valley/San Francisco Bay area as examples.
Held at the Auditorium A at SEGi University, the talk was attended by about two hundred, including Emeritus Professor Dr. Muhamad Awang, students, lecturers and members of the public.
Mark Coopersmith is a senior fellow from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. He is also a well-known media commentator and has been featured in the New York Times, CNN and Investor’s Business Daily. Besides that, Mark has led the $350m Global Technology Brands group at Newell Rubbermaid, founded and built a US$150m consumer products and online commerce division for Sony, and was founding CEO of online payments venture WebOrder which is now a part of Google.
He is also the Co-Author for the book THE OTHER “F” WORD: How Smart Leaders, Teams, and Entrepreneurs Put Failure to Work which he co-wrote with Dan Janner.
